Important Things to Do While Waiting For Baby to Arrive

While pregnancy isn’t the most comfortable experience, waiting for a baby to finally make their appearance is somewhat torturous. Here are a few activities you can do your last few weeks of pregnancy to keep your mind busy while you wait for your baby to come:
Clean the house. You will currently have a nesting instinct to maintain things in order. Cleaning the home makes you feel sane and can keep your mind off of “waiting for the baby” for a while.
Get away from home and shop for the baby. Buy them a baby sling, baby wraps, or a baby carrier. This is an excellent time to buy a baby sling, since you can use them regardless if the baby is a newborn. Baby slings are specially convenient if you have another child to keep you busy because you can place your newborn in the baby sling while you get meals or read to your other child.
Go on a date with your husband. Spend one-on-one time with your other children. Once the baby arrives they will demand a lot of extra attention the first few months. Take advantage of this time to spend with your family.
Pamper yourself. Get your nails or hair done. Ask if a girlfriend wish to go to a day spa with you. Many spas offer wonderful prenatal massages which feel amazing.
Keep a journal. Waiting for a baby to arrive is an emotional journey. Write about your pregnancy and how you spent your days the last few weeks of pregnancy.
Read a great book. If you don’t know any good books, ask friends or family members if they know of worthwhile reads. Buy a good book to read now, and another one for later when you will spend most of your time either feeding or rocking your new baby.
Exercise. It is proven that exercise eases stress and gives you more energy. Be sure to do exercises that your doctor approves of, like walking or yoga. Exercise also releases natural endorphins in your body, which may help with the late-pregnancy crankiness.
